The supplied WINDOWS utility automatically detects all SN3101s in a local area network (LAN) and allows configuration / monitoring of one or more SN3101s simultaneously. In case of proactive monitoring, users can also be notified of events thanks to the support of SMTP and SNMP traps. In addition, the unit offers secure data transmission, centralized access control and Modbus Ethernet-to-Serial support. The ALTUSEN SN3101 offers a variety of "over IP" options to control serial devices - from browser login to stand-alone management of the serial AP program network management device to Telnet / SSH access terminals.

Recognizing the importance of secure data transmission, the ALTUSEN SN3101 offers 128-bit SSL encryption of serial data for TCP Server, TCP Client, Virtual Modem and for Serial Tunnel operations.
