Tecso R-309 is the control unit managed by microprocessor, dedicated to the management and supervision of solar thermal systems. Easy to install, it will allow you to always obtain the best performance from the system by managing the storage and hot water coming from the panels in the best possible way.
The basis of the operation is the concept of a differential thermostat. Tecso R-309 uses 3 temperature probes that are supplied. Based on a set temperature difference (START differential) between the storage probe (called SB2 which is ideally positioned in the lower part of the storage) and the solar panel probe (called SPS), the relay that controls the pump to transfer heat from the solar panel to the storage. Once switched on, the pump stops when the difference between the solar panel probe and the SB2 storage probe is less than a set difference (STOP differential)

Heat Integration Function

It is possible to set a parameter (P04) to enable or disable the "heat integration" function.
  • If the function is enabled (NOT by default - P4 = yes) then when the storage temperature read by SB2 falls below the set T ° min limit, and the START differential between the panel probe is not reached sensor and SB2 probe, a diverter valve is activated, which moves the flow of the heating liquid from the solar panel to an integrative source of heat (gas / oil boiler, fireplace stove, electric resistance, etc.): it will reposition itself towards the solar panel circuit only when the storage temperature has risen by at least 2 ° C with respect to the minimum threshold. The solar panel pump, in case of activation of the integration function, remains on or in any case if it was off, it turns on.
  • If the function is NOT enabled (default with P4 = no) then the comparison with the Minimum T ° is made with the SB1 probe (positioned on the upper part of the storage) and not with the SB2 probe (positioned on the lower part of the accumulation). Furthermore, the Solar Panel pump, even if the SB1 probe reaches the Minimum T ° limit (in descent), with consequent activation of the Minimum T ° deviation valve relay, must continue to operate normally according to the differentials of comparison between SB2 and SPS: therefore it must never be forced into ignition by this function. Clearly if SB1 is missing, this function is not performed.
NOTE: if an electrical resistance is used, as an "integrative source", it must be powered by a power relay suitable for supporting its electrical load. The control relay of the coil at 230V-50Hz, of this power relay, will be the one on board the electronic control.

Overtemperature Safety Function

If the storage temperature read by SB1 (or SB2 if SB1 is missing), with the solar panel pump running, exceeds the set Max T ° limit, the pump is in any case switched off: it will switch on again only when the storage temperature is reached it will have dropped by at least 5 ° C with respect to the safety threshold, as long as the valid conditions of the differential remain.
It is possible to configure the presence of a disposal pump / valve with parameter P02. In the presence of this new use, reaching the T ° Max limit in the storage tank, seen by SB1, does NOT turn off the solar panel pump, which therefore remains controlled by the SPS, SB2 probes and the START and STOP differentials, but is activated simultaneously the pump / disposal valve control relay that diverts the flow of heated liquid from the solar panel to a second storage tank, until the temperature of SB1 drops in the main storage tank.

Anti-stagnation function

To prevent stagnation phenomena, a 1 hour timer starts the pump for 30 seconds (value that can be modified with P08), when the temperature read in the solar panel, with the pump stopped (i.e. in the absence of the correct adjusted temperature differential ) is between 30 ° C and 70 ° C. At the end of the 30 seconds, or during the same, the temperature read in the solar panel may or may not have reached the START differential, necessary to keep it running. This solar panel function can be activated by parameter P01.

Antifreeze function

The control unit manages an antifreeze threshold, set at 5 ° C (value modifiable with P05) for the solar panel probe, which will activate the pump even if the required differential is not reached, until 8 ° C is reached (value modifiable with P06) in the solar panel or at least for 5 minutes (value modifiable with P07) every hour.
